Acrylic Painting – Eddie The Emu

Eddie The Emu | Sandra Burns Art

Don’t you just love this painting?

I recently completed my original acrylic painting “Eddie The Emu”. This was a complete joy to work on. When I finished, I stepped back and a smile beamed across my face. Working on this painting was something that had been part of my life every day.

And yes, I walked around to see if he kept watching me as I moved. Haha.

My favourite part of this painting is the eye – the one on the left, on his right. I was immensely pleased at how the eyes look so real.

Making “Eddie The Emu”

Here’s a quick video – not so much a “making of” but some nice close-ups:

I changed the beak about four times before I was happy with it. One of the joys of working with acrylic paints is that you can make changes as you go.

The Finished Product

So here it is – finished, framed and on the wall. And it looks stunning!
