Painting Weekends and Winter Art

flames

The weather has turned very wintery here. I find my thoughts drifting more and more to winter art.

This is a conflict for me because I thrive on sunshine and blue skies and blue water.

But when the weather turns to winter, the sunshine and blue skies and blue water are nowhere to be found. Or very rare.

And because I’m cold, I find myself thinking about winter art. I don’t live in snow country, but I love the look of snow-covered trees and cabins. Maybe that’s something new that I can try with my acrylic paints… a winter art scene.

The temperatures have been arctic this week (yes, I’ve been known to exaggerate). I wish I had a cosy fireplace like this one.

The fireplace emits a certain “romance of fire”. It is mesmerising to stare into the flames and feel its warmth take over your body.

Art and coffee will keep me going. Why is it we think we can’t function without coffee? Well, it’s usually tea for me, but the thought is the same. 🙂

Tell me in the comments below, what’s the weather like where you are? What will you be doing this weekend? If you are planning to go outside in the sunshine, make me jealous!

Have a great weekend!
