Artwork Archive – Garden Time

Garden Time | Sandra Burns Art

“Garden Time” is from my artwork archive, completed in 1980!

This is a block interpretation of my still life drawing THE GARDENER that I shared last week.

The ‘block interpretation’ method is to take another of your artworks and copy the objects but this time, instead of using fine art detailing, you look at the blocks of light and shadow.

Then, using only three or four colours, block in the areas of shadow – leaving the areas of light untouched. There is no shading, just light and dark.

Block interpretation is a remarkable way of mixing up your artwork.

This was a challenging task and was something different to try. Mrs B was always opening us up to new styles of art. Mrs B was an exceptional art teacher.

Do you like this interpretation of the garden bench?

Art has always been in my veins, this was completed as a high school art project.

Tell me in the comments below if you like this artwork. What do you feel when you look at this scene?

One thing I have learned from looking through my old artwork (my artwork archives), is I never should have stopped!

Bring happiness to your home right now and solve that blank wall space that’s been bugging you!
