A Little About Me…

Sandra from Sandra Burns ART

I’m often asked how I got to this point in my artistic journey. So here’s a little about me…

I studied art and art history at school, then got a “proper job”. Now retired from a successful corporate life, I have found my way back to art. I love making art that helps others in some way.

I believe the most important thing we can bring to another person is to silence their demons – to provide a place of refuge, of rest, of acceptance of someone as they are.

Silence can be a place of great power and healing.

Through my art, I provide hope and optimism, a strength on which to move forward.

I strongly feel that if we can make the world a better place, we should do that. πŸ’–

I enjoy being able to create artwork that sings to my soul – my happy art – and hope that it does that for you too.

I love mixing rich colours to achieve something inspirational, losing myself in the process of creation.

My greatest joy is when my art makes someone else happy. I have a strong connection to water and to animals.

The sight and sound of the ocean has always been an escape for me.

To me, the vast expanse of the ocean and the echoing sound of the waves is my happy place – it brings me peace. πŸ’–

I’m a West Australian artist, creating artwork that promotes serenity and joy.

Painting brings me so much happiness and any time I get to share my designs with others is such a joy for me.

My goal as an artist is to bring joy to the hearts and homes of others.

Thanks for taking this art journey with me!

    1. Thank you so much. It’s difficult to write about myself, much easier to write about my art. Do you find that too?

  3. Art in all its manifestations is Spiritual… the closest one can get to the reality of art… is thought… thus we are all artist of a sort… only some of us turn our thoughts into a tangible reality…

  7. Thank you for sharing an intimate part of yourself with us, Sandra. You do inspire others through your authentic self, and you just never know when or how you may do it. This is why it is so important for those of us in the arts and humanities sector, to be empathetic with the messages we convey to those who watch us and listen to us. Thanks so much for sharing your beautiful message with us today! πŸ’–πŸ™πŸΌπŸ₯°
