My love of art also extends to architecture and the beautiful old heritage-listed buildings that have thankfully been kept, despite the need for progress.
In this photo is the Old Police Barracks, built in 1905, currently serving as administration buildings for the Art Gallery of Western Australia.
And the second building is the Old Swan Barracks, built in 1896 as a military drill hall. The building remained in military use (barracks and headquarters) until 1992 when the army units relocated to Fremantle. Since its sale in 1999, the complex has been a private college and a backpacker hostel. Currently not in use, looking very deserted.
