‘Penny & Pound’, in Vic Park

The suburb of Victoria Park in Perth, Western Australia, is very supportive of artists and the arts, with many sculptures and street art on display.

This black swan and red kangaroo steel sculpture is the work of Fremantle sculptor Greg James. Created in 2012, it is situated on the corner of Albany Highway and Duncan Street in front of the Victoria Park Post Office.

Titled “Penny and Pound”, the swan and the kangaroo are named after the stamp emblems in the early 1900’s, when the Vic Park Post Office was built.

    1. They really are, Aparna. And they are life-size, so it’s a brilliant sculpture. 😊
