YELLOW ROSE OF FRIENDSHIP

Inspired by a yellow rose in my Mum’s beautiful garden, this painting has a delightful abstract background. The yellow rose is symbolic of friendship.

Yellow Rose of Friendship

A yellow rose is something to share with those you hold dear.

First drawing the rose in pencil, then tracing over the draft in black fine-liner pen. A wash of colour, before adding detail in acrylics. I used fresh rainwater to thin my paints for the splashes and drips.

A yellow rose in a dream can mean friendship or a non-romantic love for someone. If the rose is wilting, it is a sign to invest more time in friendships.

My favourite part was adding the delightful drips of colour for the background.
