A Chlorophytum Spider Plant – from my high school sketch book!
My Mum has always had the most amazing green thumb. Her garden is always thriving.
One sunny afternoon, I sat at the patio table with my sketchbook and coloured pencils… and decided to capture the essence of this beautiful spider plant.
I chose to draw only the plant – not the pot, no background. I like the way it worked.
This spider plant sketch was drawn in Chinagraph Pencil. There was no draft sketch to start off, I just dive straight in with the colours.

I love using nature for inspiration in my art.
Tell me in the comments below, did I capture the essence of this small spider plant?
Live. Love. Art.
