Instinctive Drawing

Last week I did some sketching exercises, a prompt by Jacksons Art. The task was to set a timer for 5 minutes and draw.

The first task was “instinctive drawing” – to summon up your inner artist and just draw.

I chose to draw my beloved tea cup – because it is always close and it was the first thing I saw when I thought, “What shall I draw?”

So here’s my five-minute pencil sketch of my tea cup.

It’s surprising how quickly five minutes go by.

There are three more sketch tasks in this exercise, each with different styles of drawing. So, follow me and I’ll show you the full set of drawings next week. Stay tuned…
