Highlight for August 2022

The highlight of my month was a special lunch at Parliament House hosted by our local state member, Geoff Baker MLA, to “recognise you, your contribution and your amazing work”.

It was a small group consisting of Mr Baker, Veronica (a nature photographer), Trevor (a children’s book author), Monique (Head of Arts at a local high school), and me.

This was all kicked off by a photography competition I entered last year (see pic), and my pelicans photo is now part of a “South Perth Highlights” electronic display within the halls of our State Parliament House.

South Perth Pelicans photo by Sandra Burns ART - two pelicans standing in the shallow waters of the Swan River in Perth, Western Australia, with the city skyline of Perth in the background

We are blessed to have a local politician take such an interest in the people of his community, giving his support and recognition.
