Sketchbook Art – Watercolour Flowers

Sketchbook Art - Watercolour Flowers - Sandra Burns Art

I recently decided to have a go at watercolours. I have never thought watercolour painting was easy, but boy! it was hard.

Like anything though, I expect it gets easier with practice – and finding out what you’re good at.

I followed some YouTube videos that were fairly detailed and I squished them all into one page of my sketchbook.

So here’s first attempt at watercolour flowers. I don’t know the names of all the flowers, so I won’t even start a list of names. Maybe we can just call them Eric, Jenny, etc. Haha!

My two favourites were the thistle and the pink one. See? I don’t know names. No, not that one, the other pink one. 😁

Obviously, they look better in the smaller version on the full page than the blown up images above.

I really enjoyed trying something different. It gave me a new perspective on watercolour flowers, something I hadn’t done before.

I also feel inspired enough to further my knowledge of watercolour painting.

What do you think? Should I keep at it?

Live. Love. Art.

-Sandra 🙂
