This week’s sketchbook project is ‘Watercolour Yoga’. More than yoga, this is yoga art!
We arrived at our high school art class to find our art teacher wearing a leotard. A few giggles amongst the ranks.
Then down to work. She’d strike a yoga pose and we’d have to quickly sketch her – using anything but pen or pencil.
I chose watercolour paint and charcoal.
But not watercolour in the sense that you could create a work of art. These were quick sketches. So a few quick swipes with the paintbrush and then quickly add some definition by using the charcoal.
I soon found out that it is difficult to use charcoal on wet paper.
Here is one of my sketches:

What do you think?
I loved this challenging task, and I think I did okay.
Next week I’ll show you how I adapted another yoga sketch into some completely different art.
Thanks for following my art journey!
